The perfect pickle
As attention to “gut health” become more mainstream, these naturally fermented veggies were flying off the shelves in Austin’s Whole Foods. Founders Tim Klatt and Adam Blumenshein were passionate about fermentation and its potential to improve the health of our country. Backed by MSeven8 Ventures and Leaven Brands, the company set aggressive goals to grow and expand distribution nationally.
We wanted to make it easy for consumers to see how natural, nutrient-packed and effective these veggies were. We created a name that evoked the cold, fresh water of Austin’s Greenbelt springs and paid homage to the age-old barrel picking process. Designer Sam Ayling used classic botanical illustrations to highlight the natural, earthy ingredients while the packaging’s compositional simplicity insured maximum shelf impact.
